Intumescent pads have self-adhesive tape backing and are designed to fit inside steel, UPVC and PVC trunking where it passes through fire barrier walls or floors, enabling access at all times to the cables. In a fire the pads expand, filling the trunking to stop the passage of fire for up to 3 hours.
Choose pads by the size trunking they are to fit. 50mm x 50mm trunking would use one pad, 75mm x 50mm should be fitted with two pads and 150mm upwards uses three pads. For multi-section trunking use pads of appropriate size for each section. Pads are supplied individually.
